On a Mission to Love: new rosary app for Catholic schools and families

By Debbie Staresinic

One year ago, this month, Ruah Woods Press released On a Mission to Love: Rosary Meditations for Children and Families. The book has been quite popular and has found its way into Catholic schools and homes around the world. Shortly after its publication, suggestions began coming in to create an app to go with the book.

That app is now available for free at www.missiontolove.app.

The app is designed for Catholic schools and families and was created to engage children with images, music and the voices of children praying the rosary. The children heard on the app are from the Cincinnati Archdiocese’ own Royalmont Academy.  The professional recording was done by Cincinnati filmmaker Nick Staresinic.

Royalmont Academy was a particularly strong match as their students and staff pray the rosary regularly. They have also adopted Ruah Woods Press Rooted: Theology of the Body (TOB) K-12 Curriculum and are striving to be a TOB Campus. Praying the rosary as part of this program is another way to keep key TOB concepts alive in the hearts and minds of the students and staff.

The Archdiocese of Cincinnati has defined “Building a Community of Love” as the theme for the 2019-20 school year, so the timing of the On a Mission to Love app couldn’t be better.

You can access the app from your phone, tablet or personal computer.  The book can be purchased at missiontolove.org for $12 each. Parishes and schools ordering over 25 books for teachers or students receive a special bulk rate of $4 each (call 513 407-8672 to arrange for this bulk order).

Debbie Staresinic is a member of the Board of Directors at Ruah Woods, is the author of Theology of the Body Rosary Meditations and On a Mission to Love: Rosary Meditations for Children and Families . All proceeds from the sale of the books go to Ruah Woods to benefit its curriculum efforts.
