Celebrating the Miracle of the Sun
Our family loves parties! Celebrating special occasions is a great way to strengthen relationships and create lasting memories. A couple of years ago we started a tradition. We invited the kids and grandkids over to celebrate the Miracle of the Sun. The kids, both big and small, had a ball. And we had fun planning it.
We started the party by giving each person a rosary and praying one decade as a group. We used On a Mission to Love: Rosary Meditations for Children and Families as our guide. Following each Hail Mary, the younger children took turns placing a sunflower at the foot of a beautiful statue of Mary.
Afterwards, the little ones colored Fatima pictures and watched The Day the Sun Danced, a sweet thirty minute animated film that we found on Amazon. We served drinks and snacks with Fatima cups, napkins and plates by Erica at @beaheartdesign. The kids drank Capri Suns and the adults sipped tequila sunrises.
The spinning sun cake added an especially festive touch to a fun and memorable family gathering. Wishing you a happy Feast of the Miracle of the Sun!
In Christ,
